“narr'ceh'sus”
digital chromogenic print.
2018.
This series attempts to meditate the relationship between family and identity, working through concepts: ancestry, visibility and the politics of community.
These works are autobiographical, asking can one objectively arrive to their identity? Is their a level of negotiation in pivoting against history and the present as you search for who you wish to be.
Each image illustrates a sense of reflection: as the hands represent an affirmation of a “genesis” or beginning for the sibject to begin “seeing” itself.
